Do you recall the servant in the book of Matthew who received only one talent while others received two and five? This story often resonates deeply with many individuals because it reflects the feeling of being born with less. However, the message of the parable is clear: we are responsible, regardless of how much we’ve been given, to increase what we have.
So, what does this mean for us as fathers? It means that regardless of our circumstance, we are called to be good stewards of the resources that God has placed in our care. Whether it’s a modest income, a small business, or a skill or talent, it’s our responsibility to invest and grow what we have been given. Practical steps such as budgeting, saving, and seeking wise counsel can help us make the most of what we have.
It’s not about comparing ourselves to others or longing for what we don’t have. It’s about faithfully managing and growing the resources that God has entrusted to us. By doing so, we honor Him and create a foundation of financial stability for our families.
So, fathers, let’s be encouraged to invest what God has given us, no matter how small it may seem. Let’s be faithful with the whichever number of talents we’ve been entrusted with, knowing that our efforts can have a significant impact on our families, communities and the Kingdom of God.
