As we reflect on our own upbringing, we may recognize that most of us were raised by parents who were exceptional savers but didn’t have much knowledge about investing. Our parents worked tirelessly to provide for our needs, ensuring that we had enough for the present. However, they may not have embraced the concept of building wealth for future generations. Now, as we take on the responsibility of fatherhood, we have the opportunity to break this cycle and display a different approach.
My father, who immigrated to the US as a child, was a diligent and hard-working man. He instilled in me the values of discipline and perseverance, which have been invaluable in my own life. However, my father didn’t actively utilize wealth building principles, bur rather focused primarily on making and saving money for immediate needs. Now that I’m a father of two, it’s up to me to enhance my understanding of finance and wealth creation, not just for myself but also for the benefit of my children’s children.
